Office Room With A View

Our office is fortunately face onto the entry of the castle area and the weather is soo beautiful today...

The white tower once was the town fire-tower, now this area is the historical oldtown. The tower was built in the XIII. century, but since than its original form ruined many times because of wars and later it was rebuilt and ruined again because of an earthquake in 1810. The today form was built in the early XIX. century in late baroque style.

The stone gate [left, on the second photo] is the entry into the castle area. We call it just area, because the original castle complex [what was built in the IX-X. century] ruined and later totally demolished in the beginning of the XVIII. century. So only the gate remained and the bailey. All the buildings were built in the XIII-XIX. century, except the cathedral what was started to build in 1380 but finished only in the early XIX. century. Later I will take more photos.
The cutie pie ding-dong sound comes from the fire-tower.  The sound itself is a more than 200 years old verbunkos dal/recruitment song by a Hungarian composer who was born and lived here. Even the local music school wears his name where I was learned playing the violin when I was 10. I don't know why but I hated it… Since then I deeply regret that I skip learning that beautiful instrument...

This looks like an idillic utopic place, eh? Beautiful view indeed and a nice place, but not go for it… Haha believe or not but this can be an odd Gotham sometimes, especially after dark… everything close at early so after 7 there are very few people on the streets only the arrogant homelesses, old drunkens, teenage hooligans, gangs and other not-my-favourite human categories… I can't wait for Summer, when there are some festivals in the city center, so there will be normal people* on the street too and if I want I can go for a walk in the evening without my pepper-spray…
I just laughed when I heard that this place is called big city by someones… Ok it's a city, although I always say town, but as people behave, think and live here this is more close to a village… Everyone wants to know everything about everyone… I don't want to be more butt than I am but I think I'm the only one here who knows everyone, it's easy, because more or less but everyone is the same... I'm rude but I don't care. The teens are the same, the adults are the same, the old ones are the same, think and like the same things... They don't know the basic cultural topics but quote the Bible from the first alphabet to the last except the teens who know only celebrity's life and care only about 'who fuck who', drugs, fashion and hitting the smartphones... [not all but sadly the majority] Booooring. Even goths, punks and other subcult. titles are strictly imitating each other without individuality, and not only each others look… Disillusioning! But probably there are some misfit fellows out there in this city - who are also hiding like me -, but where???!!! I don't want to become an egoistic jerk... It's enough for me being a grumpy grandma...

So this city town is sucks because of the people [with few exceptions], but beautiful because of the oldtown, the interesting historical monuments, the unique theatre… etc. The Lake Balaton is near as well as the beautiful Bakony Mountains, and the castle and our cute cake shops are definitely worth for a visit!

Not only the view is remarkable today but "the trees, the beautiful trees"…

Good Day!/Szép napot! ✌

normal people [for me] = cultured foreigners, [not stuck-up] eccentrics and optimist open-minded people to the normal level [because the big human-friendly 'world-peace' happy family McDonald's-like sunshine people also freaks me out… as well as the suicider kinds…]

Dishes of this week

As I wrote once I eat the vegan way on the weekdays because it's good to my health. I never could be vegetarian and probably never will and I always thought that eating a dish without meat means more hunger and have a feeling to run a chips bag and the cookie jar. Not every vegan dish is this or maybe I chose the right ones what make good cheer as they are beside that they are healthy and tasty. I don't know, but this week I tried out some new recipes.

At last the taste/recipe I've searched for. I love korma but neither my previous home tryings nor the pre-made ones were not the same as that taste I love in my fave Indian restaurant on Budapest. So I'm glad I've found exactly the same taste. I made this from potato, carrot, green pea and zucchini.
This 'VegRecipes of India' blog is very good, I tried many things from it and worked and tasted wonderfully, and if I want I add some white meat. The recipes looks very complicated and circumstantial at first, but I made my dishes on the easiest way I could, especially because the maximum time in our tiny kitchen I can endure is 1 or 1 1/2 hour, not a minute more... Probably I not very do the authentic way of Indian cooking but the taste is great at the end and this is what only matters to me.

I mixed this with some other recipes but the base is the same.
First I made it from real potato instead of frozen pack... I never use can tomato either only the paste sometimes, so I add 4 tomatoes, chopped. Beside the much coriander - and tonnes of chili - I add a little bit of cumin, ground ginger, cinnamon, fennel seeds and turmeric. These spices in one are the Royco Mchuzi[1], Kenya's famous spice mix for almost every dish but especially for beef. And last although my ketchup is not homemade or the common kind but the kid version from the supermarket [100% natural, without starch, preservatives and dyes, I love the kid stuffs more and more...], beside tomato it made from other vegetables, fruits and spices so this also gave to the sauce a special taste. You can make this as a side dish or like me just stuff as it is... Great!

After the korma I tried another favourite of my from India out of happyness. Also by 'VegRecipes of India' I made the Dal Makhani [in our simple kitchen language: lentil in spicy tomato sauce Haha] It was a success as well and also the same taste as in that restaurant.
So this was a happy week Hahaha [leastwise at home, some of the annoying colleagues in the office were extra annoying on this week, maybe because of the aspect of planets…? or not… but why always find only me to shout at when they are in a bad mood, because they think I'm just a worthless office assistant...? Fuck them all... I'm the one who could honestly shout a big... being among these uncultured jerks for almost 9 hours from Monday to Friday...] Anyway, next time I'll try to post a Hungarian recipe already, I promise. It's just if I cook/try something new delicious thing I need to share with someone... it's a family tradition Haha So if I have this blog now I share with the readers, maybe they have the same taste or just for.

Good Day!/Szép napot!

Self-portrait With Beanie Hat

I don't know why but I have a keen on hats, no matter whether its a bowler hat, a trilby hat, a beanie hat, a costume hat or a simple knitted hat.  I buy one or two in every year, especially love the unusual ones like that fox-eared I have. I even made at home once some crazy hats with eyes or another one was a tea-party hat with bloody tea cups on it… etc. You can see them here

This is my favourite. I bought this beanie two years ago [in H&M…] but I still love it, it inspired me for a painting as well
I asked my mom where this mania came from. According to her when I was a child I always "borrowed" her and dad's old hats since I was 5-6 years old and I run up and down on the streets in them or sang and danced at home in those enormous hats… Thank Buddha I ended for good – at least - this behaviour… Now my youngest nephew started this hobby as I see... Haha

But about beanies too…
I can't believe how accurately the 90's in fashion again… [beside the hippie era] I mean there are almost exactly the same shirts and others in the shops… fashion designers run out of every original ideas for a long time now… that business world will blow up once but who cares…
I just think I regret that I threw away those great glittered jelly rubber platform sandals I had when I was teen… I remember that every jewelry of mine was white daisy, blue flowers and neon green things… I even had those disgusting plastic dummies as well, 10 or 15 hanged in my neck... ~Urgh /And I just wonder why I was hated in school… Hahaha/ I still try to find my silver glittered plastic U.F.O sunglasses in the cellar, I can't remember which box I put in…. ~Ugh strange fashion was in those times too…

I can't believe I have found on the net, I had in gold glitter version... nice, eh?
About beanie hats I remembered this video from 1994 with the girl with the yellow hat and dark lipstick at 2:35. It's just I like the girl's styling or what... gives me memories... [Don't laugh on the music! Haha]
Video from YouTube. Well I borrowed it.

Funny or not I was a huge rave and dreamdance music fan when I was teen [beside the glorious hair metal and grounge of course]. RMB was one of my favourite band as well as this - and only - song from the - now odd - East17. Focus on that loooong hat, soo epic now, and those serious faces!! Hahaha

So this is my first digital oil work

I'm still a beginner yet in digital painting as well as in oil, I try to find my own way. There are some parts I don't like now and at the next work I will try to avoid the mistake.
I'm planning to take some lessons by web course from this guy. He studied classical portraiture in Florence! Oh that nasty fortunate one...

I made this in ArtRage4. I love modern era inventions like this painting program too. For a hobbyist like me oil paint, canvas and the others are very pricy fun in Hungary, not to mention that our home is small to collect canvases just for, so it was a worth to buy this program instead. I already have an old drawing tablet [Wacom], so painting and drawing with these is much more easier, not to mention cheaper to me. No mess, no strong paint smell... Although I'm an artist I cannot bear oil or other paints and reducer smell… give me headache... interesting but I don't care.

Why purple eyebrows?
In the 90's ravers liked to color their eyebrows [beside many other loony habits…]. I don't know what was the good in it, I never did. But now that crazy era is in fashion again so I gave it a try… and purple because it's me... Haha
Marusha was also one of my favourite rave musician in those times. She weared beanies all the time and liked to color her eyebrows green… She was/is a very unique persona.

This hat is fun... or is it just me again... nevermind

But the memories just rushed me again...Sorry but I need to put here some teen favourites of mine... Here are my very close favourites from Dune, Marusha, U96, RMB, Prodigy... Really don't laugh! Haha These songs were real hits in those times. Today "ravers" know nothing about those sounds... And although I never was a club person, I never went to disco or whatever, but I also have my memories in my own way about that - now looks strange - era... Good Day!/Szép napot!
